Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog. I know that we all have busy lives so I truly appreciate you taking time out of your day to read what I have to share. My name is Ashley and I live in Ottawa, Ontario with my husband and our two kids. Like most, we live busy, fun and sometimes challenging lives. I hope that some of what I share resonates with you.
I have always been a very happy and positive person and have always said that I love my “lovely life.” I had an amazing childhood, which I owe to my incredibly loving and hard working mom and have always been surrounded by an incredible girl tribe (girls, you know who you are). Like most, I love to spend time with family and friends, cooking, exercising, reading, and traveling. I’m excited to share with you posts about all of these topics which bring me so much joy.
To be honest, though, I never thought that I would have a blog until this year. I have always enjoyed journaling but I never thought about sharing my thoughts. It wasn’t until January 2017, when my mom was diagnosed with her second cancer, stage 3C ovarian cancer, that I had this insatiable desire to write. I was filled with so much sadness and anger that her cancer had returned, and I had to do something with all of the emotions and anxiety that I was feeling. I turned to journaling and, lucky for me, the writing seemed to help ease the emotions.
This isn’t a sob story. I’m not looking for anyone to feel sorry for me. I know that there are many of you who are in the same or similar situation. My intentions are quite the contrary. I hope that what I’m sharing with you brings you happiness and helps those of you who are going through a difficult time. Other than mom’s diagnosis, I am very grateful for the beautiful life that I have and thankful to have HER as MY mom :). I decided to share this information because I wanted to be honest with you about my motivation behind this blog. What is an honest blog if I am not being truthful from the start.
On a lighter note 😉 I’m lucky to have my incredible family and friends. I hope that you enjoy my posts and pictures of all of the lovely things that I have going on in my life. That they make you smile, laugh, feel grateful for what you have and on the rare occasion bring you both happy and sad tears.
We only have one life to live so I say live it to the fullest. Choose to fight hard to be happy, especially when the times get tough because you deserve it. Finally, remember to be kind to all because you never know what difficulties people may be going through. Like the quote says “throw kindness around like confetti” because what do we have if we do not have kindness!
